The Standard Schnauzer is a medium sized, Rugged, Robust Dog with big bushy eyebrows, whiskers and a beard.
The head is long and rectangular, with a strong muzzle and a pronounced stop. The nose is black and the eyes are oval
and dark brown. The tail is usually docked, cropping the ears is optional. The forelegs are very straight. Any dewclaws
should be removed. The top line slopes slightly downward from the whithers to the rump. The front legs must appear
strait from all angles. While the thighs are oblique and very muscular. They have a wiry outer coat and dense,
soft undercoat and are ...Non Shedding... The coat comes in salt and pepper or solid black.
The Standard Schanuzer is a Fearless and Loyal dog. They make a great protective family watch
dogs and are great with children, being also know as the.. (Kinder Watcher in Germany). They are lively but
not restless. High spirited and affectionate. They are Highly Intelligent and have a Clever Personallity and are Great
Companions and playmates, They love to travel. They have been called... The Dog with the Human Mind. They
should be well socialized when young with people and other animals.
Males 18-20 inches tall and weigh about 45-50lbs, females are 17-18 inches tall and weigh between 40-45
lbs.

Very good for apartments do not need alot of excersise. But more excersise is always better.
Life Expectancy about 15 years.

The wiry coat is easy to take care of... They Should be Clipped or Hand Stripped twice a year
