The oval eyes are dark colored and the v-shaped ears fold forward when left natural or are cropped to a point and stand erect. They have a long head strong muzzle, a black nose and a sissors bite.

Coat colors include:

Salt & Pepper, Solid black & black and silver.

They are very perky and bright eyed loving & intelligent. Energetic, affectionate and obedient. Playful happy and alert.

They like children.

They can be feisty and fairly aggressive-putting on a show of superiority without nessarily intending to fight.

Socialize this breed well with other dogs and animals when they are a puppy.

They mke good companions and family pets.

They make good mouse catchers. They are excellent watch dogs and are great to travel with. Some can be reserved to strangers but love everyone.

Do not over feed the Schnauzer they tend to gain weight easily.

The Schnauzer is a good for an apartment. They are fairly active indoors and will do well without a yard.

The Miniature Schnauzer is a result of crossing a Standard Schnauzerwith a affenpinscher. They are a German breed. The Miniature was bred to kill rats and to be a companion.
